Who We Are
Brazosport Cares Food Pantry continues to lead the fight against hunger in the Brazosport community by operating a community supported food pantry and weekend backpack program for hungry students.
Along with food assistance, the pantry provides referrals to other social service agencies to help address the physical, emotional and social needs of residents. The pantry assist an average of 400 families facing hunger and food insecurity each month.
There are real stories behind the numbers... stories of real people we serve every month...
Stan came to Brazosport Cares searching for food, but left with more.
Stan’s finances were poor and so was his health, which included issues with high blood pressure and rapidly deteriorating eyesight. With no money and no hope of working, Stan visited Brazosport Cares to receive food assistance. Over time, the interviewers worked with Stan and referred him to an affordable local clinic where they diagnosed his condition and arranged for him to have eye surgery. During recovery, Stan greatly appreciated being placed on the pantry’s home delivery schedule. Today Stan’s sight is recovering and he is seeking employment.
Our mission is to feed Brazosport’s hungry through food distribution, education, collaboration, and advocacy.
