Free Farmers Markets and Resource Fairs
Brazosport Cares conducts Community Food and Resource Fairs to connect families to services that can improve quality of life and lead to self-sufficiency. Open to the community, the Fairs are a type of “free farmer’s market” and provide on average 10,000 pounds of fresh produce. Representatives from other local social services agencies related to employment, education, housing and healthcare attend the Fair and share information on their services with Fair participants.
In 2018, our Free Farmers Markets and Resource fairs distributed 68,000 pounds of fresh foods, providing xx meals to 1,789 individuals throughout our community.
